Disney Vacation Club: New DVC Resale Limitations

Questions and answers about timeshares

Disney has announced new resale restrictions and limitations to the DVC or Disney Vacation Club beginning January 19th, 2019.

In addition to the DVC resale limitations and restrictions, there has been a price increase starting January 16th, 2019 and has increased their price by 6 dollars per point.

New Changes & How They Affect Timeshares

Disney's new DVC resale restrictions have put limitations on those purchasing their points from a timeshare reseller rather than directly through the Disney Vacation Club.

Beginning January 19th, 2019 those who purchased their DVC points directly from Disney rather than a reseller will be the only ones able to use their points at the 14 existing DVC resorts, and any future Disney Vacation Club resorts.

Another limitation that Disney has put into place is that the people that buy their points for DVC Resorts that will open in the future from a reseller rather than through Disney will be restricted to only using their points at their home resort rather than being able to use their points at any of the other DVC resorts, like in the past.

Disney is increasingly making things more difficult for DVC buyers who wish to purchase through their timeshare resale and pushing people toward buying directly through Disney Vacation Club rather than buying their points through a reseller or 3rd party seller.
